0Suzuki is an automobile company based in Japan. The company was founded in 1909 by Michio Suzuki. It’s headquartered in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan, with production including motorcycles, 4 wheeled cars, marine engines, and all-terrain vehicles also referred to as ATVs. Suzuki was ranked the 9th largest automobile manufacturing company in the world in the year 2011 with its production facilities spread in over 23 countries and its brands sold in over 192 countries.
In 1937 Suzuki’s first car was manufactured as a prototype. The car was a 13 horsepower ride powered by four cylinders, four strokes, and a liquid coolant with an aluminium casing for the crank and gearbox.
Suzuki’s production capacity improved to about 6,000 motorcycle units in 1854 and this success propelled the automobile product called Suzulight a year later. As of 2012, Suzuki was worth US$25.34 billion with Volkswagen holding 19.9% of its non-controlling stake. Though Suzuki has since bought the share back completely in 2015.
The company’s grand models include Suzuki swift, Suzuki SX4, Suzuki Alto, Suzuki Grand Vitara, Suzuki XL7 among others.
